Alocasia
Rare Seeds ID provides all species collection from Alocasia genus.
The Alocasia are a genus of flowering plants, most of which are terrestrial or epiphytic, but some are aquatic and grow totally or partially submerged in fresh or salt water. They are amply distributed in tropical and temperate regions, on all continents, except Antarctica. Many of the Alocasias are raised for their ornamental potential as well as edible use, with the rhizomes being traditionally consumed in many parts of Asia.
Alocasia plants are grown more for their foliage than their flowers but they will bloom in the right conditions. The flowers are unremarkable, but you can coax flowers along for the benefit of seeds.
Alocasia flowers vary widely in color from pale peach to white or green. They can have a sweet, pleasant smell, especially at nighttime, or an earthy and musky smell.
